Week 7 Review
Game 1 on the early November night started off slow as it took 9 minutes into the first period to open up the goal scoring with 2 goals both by J & J putting them up 2 going into the second period. The second period of this game saw J & J add 5 more goals increasing their lead to 7-0, John Flynn had to of the goals during this period. JNM started the third period off on the right foot scoring a goal 53 seconds into the final period of the game, unfortunately for JNM that would be the only goal they score as J & J coasts to a 9-1 victory over JNM. Steve Moran filled the stat sheet with 2 goals and 4 assists, John Flynn and John Ruggiero each had 2 goals and an assist, J & J goalie helped kept the victory in tact stopping all but 1 of the 25 shots he faced, Brian Rickard had the lone goal for JNM in the game. J & J will put their 3-3 record on the line as they face Norm's Wings coming fresh off a bye week and JNM will play first place James Auto in game 2 of the double header next week.
Game 2 on the night was between James Auto and Kay's, Kay's looking to gain some ground in the standings but James Auto scored the opening goal 1:30 into the opening period (period ended with James Auto on top 3-1). Kay's scored 2 goals and James Auto added another goal of their own to bring the score to 4-3 James Auto. The third period started off quickly as Kay's tied the game up at 4 a piece within the first 2 minutes of the start of the third period. However, James Auto notched 4 unanswered goals to end the game and Kay's hope of notching the win as the final score ended with James Auto coming out on top 8-4. Mike Vacher (of James Auto) had 3 goals on the night, James Auto's Rob Edleman ended the night with 2 goals and an assist, and Kay's star on the night was John Engels as he had a pair of goals. This upcoming week, James Auto will play JNM in game 2 on the night while Kay's will have a chance to get back on track after their bye week.
