The Matty Chronicles: Volume 3

September 27, 2017

Even though you look at it and it is fairly unremarkable, but damn Wednesday is a weird word.

Wednesday is a great day, because its hockey night At 146!

The top of the standings has 3 teams with the same points, the bottom has 3 team with the same points.

The early action had 401 Consultants pitted against J&J Auto. The 2 teams would go punch for punch in this donnybrook. (Coach, I stole your word). The blue got out there and scored early on the b half of the first shift.  Gary "the Show-Showtime" Myers would set up Rene Menard who bent the twine to open the scoring. After trading goals four times, J&J pulled ahead. Jimmy Meegan, got the game winner, which was well deserved. He would end up with 2 goals and an assist in the effort. Steve "Jonesy" Jones would slice the nail in the coffin on the Consultants.

John Hassett would continue to pile up his goal tally getting the helper from John Engles for Kay's. Kays cordially donned their Blue Jerseys and looked very spiffy. Later in the first Kevin Smith, of James Auto, would even the game up with his line mates Mike Landry and Dave Poison. Early in the second, James Auto would strike again, with a goal by Keith Choquete set up nicely by John Morais. In the final period, Smith would put the exclamation point on the game, helped out by Landry and Bob Murry. A great game by two great teams. James Auto would pull out 3-1.

Weisman Roofing really came through this week. I don't know who 10 was for the Red, but he got a Hat trick and 4 assists. Weisman would score 6 goals in the first to start this off on the tilt. The Brians for JNM transportation would not give up. Brian Sally would grab 2 goals and assist. While Brian Beck would put up a goal and an assist. It just wasn't enough after the gigantic first for Wiesman.

Another great week of hockey boys.

See you next week.
